I’ll be 32 years old when I am no longer in school debt. When I do make that last payment I am going to buy myself something fabulous: Being a responsible adult needs its rewards. Cowabunga: Best Indian

So, I’m a big fan of hyperbole. But I think that the jewelry-selection at Exclusively.in might be some of the prettiest stuff I’ve seen all week. Keep in mind that I’m sitting in a dismally empty, 3/4 packed apartment watching dust bunnies tumbleweed across our polished concrete floors, so everything seems pretty in context, but still: The array here is cheering me up. As its name would imply, everything on the site is exclusive, and it’s all from India, which is a serious boon since this move to California requires me to leave my beloved shopping trips to Jackson Heights behind. The site offers seriously stunning, fashion-forward saris–and embroidered silk scarves—but I’m most interested in the bejeweled chandelier earrings and over-the-top necklaces. Like playing dress-up, in the best possible way.

So Juicy Couture might still be unfairly saddled with a reputation for only making velour tracksuits and charms (which I unabashedly love), they actually have pretty great—and unexpected—jewelry. And their fancier Bird by Juicy Couture line is rife with good stuff, too.

Case in point, will someone please buy me this ombred-out fringe necklace. I’d tie it loose, and layer it with a handful of delicate gold necklaces: So pretty, in a bohemian art school kind of way.

Am I the last to the
Bauble Bar party? September 8th, 2011 By

So bear with us if we’re the last to this party, but how did the launch of Bauble Bar completely pass us by? In fact, I would still be in the dark about this incredibly well-conceived and wildly well-priced costume jewelry site were it not for Cynthia Kling—of Domino fame (as the author of “The Adventuress” column, she’s the one who constructed her own pre-fab home and meditated on important topics like clutter)—who mentioned it in passing, during a conversation about the art of packing. Her tone wasn’t all out accusatory when she asked me how I, of all people, didn’t know about the site, but it was definitely amused. Apparently, she owns so many things from Bauble Bar that she gifts them from her own neck at cocktail parties. That said, she has yet to bequeath anything to me.

No bother, though, because most things tend to register in at less than $100 (many for under $25, true story). Sold. What other awesome web launches have I somehow missed? Spill on your favorites, please…
